Community Profile

On behalf of the City of Keene, I would like to welcome you to our home. We are a small community located on the Highway 67 corridor between I-35W and the new Chisholm Trail Parkway with just over 6,100 in population and growing.

Whether you are bringing your business here or your family, the city of Keene is a great place to be. We are proud to say we have a great school system. Offering options from the public or the private school system, a student can go from kindergarten to a master’s degree without ever leaving the city limits. This is one reason the City of Keene was recently ranked by Niche.com as the #16 best town under a population of 100,000 to raise a family in Texas.

Affordability, along with education, is also key in searching for a place to raise your family. Our average home prices are below that of Fort Worth, but only a short 35 minute drive to their downtown or 7th street area and less than an hour to DFW Airport. We were also in the top 10 most affordable cities around Fort Worth ranked by Movoto.com.

On top of being a great place to raise a family, Keene has elected officials and city staff in place that are forward thinking and open minded to do what it takes to see this community flourish. We have multiple opportunities for manufacturing and warehousing with our industrial park off of HWY 67 and CR 318 as well as multiple sections of raw land prime for commercial development.

The Keene Economic Development Corporation (Type A Board) and Keene Business Development Corporation (Type B Board), along with the Keene Chamber of Commerce continue to do a great job in promoting our community to make it more inviting for businesses and families.

Whether you’re here to visit or here to stay, we welcome you to Keene!

Best Wishes,
