KEENE, TX 02/22/2021 - CITY OF KEENE - EMERGENCY OPERATION UPDATE
CITY OF KEENE IS STILL UNDER BOIL WATER NOTICE
02/22/2021
Today, water connection was re-established between Johnson County Special Utility District water system and the City of Keene water system. Because of this, we were able to get enough water supply to begin pressurizing our water system and attempt to go back to normal. Boil water notice will remain in effect.
02/23/2021
Tomorrow, Tuesday, February 23, 2021, after some repairs to be done to one of our booster pumps, the water system will be switched back to normal. Residents will experience some air in the water lines which is expected.
As the water stays on, please check to make sure that your pipes do not have any leaks. If you are experiencing a leak and need your water shut off, call our Public Works on-call number: 817-240-2995.
Boil water notice will remain in effect and we will keep you updated for when you no longer have to boil the water.
The city will distribute bottled water from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. (while supplies last) at the Keene Fire Department (201 W. Hillcrest St).
