Keene Fire-Rescue Visits Keene Junior High School

Keene Fire-Rescue Department personnel visited Keene Junior High School on Thursday, October 9, as part of Fire Prevention Week.
Captian Jake Hopps, the city's fire marshal, Lt. Ryan Howerton, Engineer Tommy Tubbs, and Firefighter Aaron Chapline visited classrooms to discuss general fire safety and careers in firefighting.
The sixth-grade students listened attentively to the firemen. The were able to view the fire truck and see high-tech firefighting equipment and attire worn by the firemen when fighting fires.
KFR personnel and school district officials hope the presentation, better prepares students to stay safe around fires.
